The Department of Radiology at the Royal Artemis Hospital offers state-of-the-art care in a personal and caring environment. In this department, x-rays and ultrasound are used to image parts of the body in order to evaluate and screen for diseases. Although this is a high volume area of the clinic, our staff is committed to ensuring that each patient's encounter is as easy and comfortable as possible. We provide services to adults and children including:
* General x-rays (such as chest, extremities, spine and sinuses)
* Mammography (screening and diagnostic studies)
* Ultrasound (such as abdomen, pelvis, obstetrics and breast)
Imaging Results:
A board certified Radiologist will review and interpret your x-ray films and a written report of the results will by forwarded to your Menlo Medical Clinic physician. If there is another physician you would like to receive the information, please provide their name and address to our front desk at the time of your visit and we will send them a copy.
Prior to your visit to the Radiology Department, please read these helpful hints:
If there is any possibility that you are pregnant, please inform your referring physician before your appointment and always inform the x-ray technologist. (A pregnancy test can be performed ahead of time, or if your study is not urgent, it can be rescheduled for an appropriate time in your cycle.)
Please be prompt for scheduled appointments and bring the requisition given to you by your physician. As a department, we are committed to running on time barring unplanned emergencies.
For your ultrasound - please follow the instructions carefully, which may include fasting or drinking water prior to your study.
For your mammogram - please bring any old films or arrange to have old films sent to us prior to your appointment. It is a good idea to check with your insurer ahead of time to assess the frequency for which they will cover mammograms. This is important because some insurance plans will not cover screening mammography if it is less (even by one day) than a year since your last study. You will be asked to remove deodorant prior to the mammogram.
